Die Alp Homatta liegt auf 1920 bis 2050 m ü. M. im Schweizer Kanton Wallis. Alte Flurnamen für Homatta waren auch homatton (1388), homattun (1414), homatten (1547), Homatten-Alp, Homatte (1946), Homatta (1978).cite-ref-1[1]cite-ref-2[2]

„Mässig geneigter Bergwiesenhang im unteren Bereich des weiträumigen Bergkessels zwischen Hipschhooru, Homattugletschär, Breithooru und Glatthooru. Über das Bergheuland liegen ein halbes Dutzend Alphütten verstreut, die in den letzten Jahren teils zu Ferienhäuschen umfunktioniert wurden. Das Alpweideland rund um die Privatzellen gehört der Geteilschaft Waaldärubäärg.“

Orts- und Flurnamen Simplon Süd S. 75

Homatta gehört zur Gemeinde Simplon-Dorf. Die Alphütten auf Homatta sind nur im Sommer bewohnt. Die Wiesen der Homatta werden im Sommer durch einen Bauer aus Simplon-Dorf bewirtschaftet. Einerseits wird auf der Alp Heu gewonnen und anderseits grasen Kühe auf der Weide.
